On Wed., Feb 21, my friend of 50 years
was the speaker at the PalmBeach Sailing
Club. Llwyd Ecclestone gave a presentation
which included some great sailing pictures
of some of his racing and cruising sailboats.
He followed this with a question and answer
session that was well received. A great evening
at our club.

Marge and I came to Riviera Beach in 1969
One of the first people we met, at a pta meeting,
was Herman McCrae. Herman was and is
very much involved in Riviera politics. When I
Served on the City council, I got to know Herman
very well, and we became friends. I don't see
him much any more, but I still buy Ribs from his
Barbeque shop, Best Ive ever eaten.
Today Marge and I had lunch with Herman
at the Tiki bar in the Riviera Beach Marina.
It was great to see Herman again, and we're
going to have Ribs tonnight!

Marge and I were lucky enough to do
about 20 cruises where I acted as a
duplicate bridge director, and bridge
lecturer. After I quit lecturing, we found we
were hooked, and have done about 15
more on our own nickel! This vase is
a pleasant reminder of one of our cruises.
The vase had fresh flowers every day,
and I try to keep fresh flowers now, it
requires new ones about once a week.

reflections

Marge and I have lived on or near the water for all of our 58 years of marriage. But we have been in our condo
for 14 years. This is the view in the early morning hours looking East. The condos you see are on Singer Island, where we lived for 23 years. It's a beautiful, and satisfying view to get up to in the morning!

About 3 months ago, Marge and I decided we no longer needed
two cars. We gave our daughter Marge's Chrysler town car.
The major change in our lives, I am now going to church regularly so I can drive instead of Marge going alone as she has for several years. I won't say I am suddenly converted back to religion, but I did decide to be active. I'm now an usher!
Anyway, today, Oct. 8, 2006, was "the blessings of the animals". Dogs and cats all over the place, really quite a bit of fun. The pictures are from this event.
Incidentally, the town car replaced my Daughter's small truck with about 180,000 milea on it!
