Just got a call from my friend Herman McCrae. Herman is a black activist I met at a
PTA meeting when I first arrived in Florida in 1969. I early on got involved in local politics,
and found out we could work together.
Sure enough, we became good friends, and we still are.
Wish the whole world would work that way.

This past weekend, Mar20-21, we took a trip to White Springs, fl. about 100 miles East of
Tallahassee. There was a Spring festival devoted to Azaleas. It featured singing, eating,
and lots to see in The Steven Foster Park. It was most enjoyable, and the dogs were
well behaved.
It was a good diversion for Marge, who is slipping farther away very slowly. from her Alzheimers.
It get's a little more difficult to keep her occupied, but we are doing pretty well.
It would be impossible for me without my daughter's help, but of course that's
the main reason we came to Tallahassee. Also, of course, we are in a superior
retirement village, Westminster Oaks.

This is at the Suwannee . Look closely at the pole with marks. The marks are high water marks in
prior year floods, over 40 feet above the river's normal height!

A few pictures from one of our favorite Tallahassee lunch spots. It reminds us of the Tiki bar
in Riviera Beach. The Tiki is on the Intra Coastal looking at Peanut Island. It's right at the
Inlet, and is a great spot. The Riverside is on the Wakulla river, about 2 miles from the Gulf
of Mexico near the top of the Gulf. It ain't the Tiki, but it'll do.

No body could be more of a republican than I am. I voted for McCain, and I'm sorry he lost. BUT,
Obama is now our president I want him to succeed, and I hope all my conservative friends feel the same.
God Bless America.
