As you can imagine, we have a lot of free time now. Partly age, and partly a new
area, and old people just don't make close friends that fast. No club like OPYC where
socializing is very easy, and even though the membership is aging, it's still easy to
form good friendships. Here, the closest thing to a club is Perry Center. It is well ruun,
and we use it. When we do, we are one of the younger ones present.
All this is to lead up to the fact that lunch is often a majot part of the day, and we
look forward to finding more places to go. The Riverside cafe in St. Marks is a new one we intend
to use more often. It's about 39 miles from where we live, and on the Wakulla { I think }
river, and close to the NE corner of the Gulf. It's a few miles from Angelo's, in Panacea.
We'll be seeing a lot of it I think.

Addendum to post below, none of us like the name Caprese, and apparantly neither does the
new dog. Last night we settled on Hobo, even though this suggests a male.
We'll try it out, more later.RHD

WE have had Klondike for 7 months, we really loved him, especially me,
but he developed a problem! In the last 2 weeks, he began to s;pook
easily to eveyone but me, especially Marge. It scared her, and also me.
I don't know if he would have ever bitten her, but I could not take a chance.
I was told it was a dominence problem. I was promoted to Alpha dog,
but he was # 2!!! It was suggested that it could be corrected in time, but
I can't wait.

So, Klondike is history, and Caprise is the new dog.

HOPE IT WORKS, I BELIEVE IT WILL

Just to prove that my bird feeder is attracting visitors!
I don't know one from another, but it's fun watching!

Oh well, it's not as exciting as racing sailboats, but
this is Tallahassee!

What else is there to do?

Not fair, we are enjoying it immensely, but we are
getting older

My Mother's family about 1910-11. My Mother and her sister
are sitting on the table, the one on the right is my Mother, Velma Lyon Dodd.
When my daughter figures out who they all are, I'll revise this.

Today my daughter took me along for my first of many [ I hope ] kayak trips on one of "Her Rivers". I knew how old I am when Deb and "Mr. Bob" had to help me in and out of the Kayak.
But once in, I was fine, and even contribuated in a small way to the paddling!
When my wife made her first trip, Deb said she paddled like a young Turk, not an advanced age
Grandmother. I on the other hand, had to rest the arms after a few strokes, but I did get better!
It was a wonderful day, and here are a few shots.

Debbie said the river was more crowded than usual,
but there was plenty of room, and everyone we saw
was both friendly and polite.
