I was born in Detroit in a four family flat owned by my GrandMother. It was then a nice neighborhood, I think, Helen Ave. near the Belle Isle bridge. Now it's scary!!
My Mother and Father bought a 2 family flat on Tuxedo, and took me to it when I was
about 3 months old. It's here I spent my first 5 or 6 years. I started school at the school complex on Linwood ave., about 3 blocks from where we lived. I seem to remember walking to school with other, and older, kids.The houses were small, and crowded together. I'll think about this, and add to it soon. I want to explain bigotry and segregation if I can find the right words.
