The war years

In Jan. 1941, I graduated from Redford High School. I worked in the mail room at McCord Radiator in Detroit until Sept. at which time I entered the Univ. of Mich. as a 17, soon to be 18 year old freshman. In my first semester, I often went home for the weekend. On Dec. 7, 1941, my parents drove me back to Ann Arbor. When we arrived at the dorm, all the radios were on. We had been attacked by the Japanese. The next day we were officially at war. Our lives would be profoundly changed for all times. These years are what I will try to address in the next few blogs.
